What is the ELE culture and practice course?
The ELE courses and culture and practice combine the Teaching of Spanish as a Foreign Language (ELE) with a cultural experience and, moreover, active practice components to reinforce language skills in real-life situations. These courses are specially designed for students who not only want to learn Spanish and get to know the Hispanic culture, but also want to learn more about the Spanish language. putting their knowledge into practice in authentic contexts.
The main elements of these courses usually include:
Structured Spanish classes
Language lessons covering grammar, vocabulary and communication skills in Spanish, adapted to the level of the students.
Cultural immersion
Sections on the history, art, literature, traditions and values of Spanish-speaking countries. This helps students to understand the cultural context behind the language and gives them a fuller understanding.
Group projects and dynamics
Through role-play, collaborative projects and group discussions, students gain confidence in using Spanish in a social and professional environment.
Active practice and real-life situations
Interactive activities where students use Spanish in real-life situations, such as:
Conversation exchanges with native speakers.
Practical workshops (e.g. Spanish cuisine, Latin dance, or visits to local markets).
Excursions and visits cultural activities where you practise the language while exploring historical sites or everyday activities of the local culture.
