What are SIELE courses and what do they consist of?
The SIELE preparation courses are designed to prepare students for the Servicio Internacional de Evaluación de la Lengua Española (SIELE) (International Spanish Language Evaluation Service). Like the DELE, SIELE is an official certification of competence in Spanish, but it has some key differences:
Modular review
SIELE assesses the level of Spanish in four skills (reading comprehension, listening comprehension, written expression and interaction, and oral expression and interaction). Students can take a global exam or by specific modules, according to their needs.
International certification and valid for two years
It is internationally recognised and is valid for five years (unlike the DELE, which does not expire). SIELE also uses the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) to assign levels of proficiency in Spanish.
Digital and rapid screening
Unlike DELE, which is paper-based and takes place on fixed dates, SIELE is digital, allowing students to choose when and where to take the exam, with results in less time.
The SIELE courses prepare students for each of these competencies and familiarise them with the digital format and the specific skills needed to perform at their best in each section of the exam.
SIELE is digital, adaptable, agile, international and of high quality:
Digital
Digital because it is managed entirely electronically. Registration, taking the tests, providing information on results and obtaining the Certificate or Qualification Report all work via the Internet.
Adaptable
Adaptable because it adapts to the needs of the user. The candidate can choose between certifying their overall competence in the Spanish language, or in the different language activities (reading, writing, understanding, speaking).
Agile
Fast because you get your results and the Certificate or Report within a maximum of three weeks, and because it works through a system of appointments with SIELE test centres.
International
International because, coordinated from Mexico, Argentina and Spain, it incorporates the cultured variants of the great linguistic map of Spanish. Each SIELE test must combine a minimum of three different varieties of Spanish.
Quality
Quality because it is endorsed by prestigious institutions such as the Cervantes Institute, the UNAM, the USAL and the UBA, which guarantee quality standards and good practices in the preparation of the tests as well as in the management, information and communication of results.
